Welcome to Private Lessons, an English language school in Almaty, Kazakhstan. We help children, teenagers and adults strengthen their English through conversation, reading, writing and structured language practice.

English-medium classes may be available for students who already understand basic English. Every new student completes a placement assessment before we recommend a suitable group.

ENGLISH COURSES

A course to match your goals and level

We focus on practical communication and systematic progress. For English-medium classes, students should have basic English skills and be able to understand simple classroom instructions.

English for Children

For young learners, approximately ages 5–10. English-medium groups are suitable for children who can already understand simple English instructions.

English for Teenagers

For students aged 11–17. Build confidence in speaking, reading, writing and grammar, with groups selected through placement testing.

IELTS Preparation

Focused practice in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, including exam strategies and feedback on performance.

English for Adults

For adults who want to improve communication skills and have some English experience. Ask your preferred branch about available groups.

Guide to tuition fees: General English group lessons for teenagers: 36,000 KZT/month. IELTS group lessons: 70,000 KZT/month. Regular group classes typically take place three times a week for 45 minutes. Please confirm current fees, schedules and suitable class availability with the branch.

What parents often ask

Does my child need to know some English already?

For classes taught in English, children need basic listening and speaking skills and should be able to follow simple classroom instructions. Every new student takes a placement assessment. We recommend a suitable class according to their level and availability.

Can lessons be conducted in English?

Yes. English-medium lessons can be arranged for students with sufficient prior knowledge, subject to their placement results and available groups. Our administrators can also communicate with parents in English.

Can two children with different English levels study at your school?

Of course. Each child is assessed individually. We then recommend the programme and group that best match their age and level.

How many students are in a group?

Our small-group classes have a maximum of seven students, giving everyone more opportunities to participate and practise speaking.

Do you offer a free trial lesson?

Yes. A free trial lesson can be arranged after the initial level assessment. Please contact the relevant branch to confirm availability and schedule.

How can I book a placement test?

Choose the branch that is most convenient for you and contact its administrator via WhatsApp. Please mention the student’s age and previous experience with English. The administrator will communicate with you in English.
